Holiday-Ready Skin: When to Book Botox, Filler & Skin Treatments Before the Holidays

The quick answer: Book Botox (neurotoxin) 3 to 4 weeks before your event and filler at least 4 weeks before, so everything has time to settle. Collagen-building treatments like micro-needling, Morpheus8 and Radiesse take a couple of months to show their best results, so the time to start those is now.

Let's be honest: the holidays sneak up on all of us. One minute you're raking leaves, the next you're in the family group photo wondering when those 11s moved in between your brows. (Hi. It happens to the best of us.)

Here's what most people don't know: great holiday skin starts now, not the week before. Some treatments need a few months to do their best work, and others need a couple of weeks to settle. So I put together a simple countdown. Pick your big day, whether that's Thanksgiving (November 26), your work party, or ringing in 2027, and plan backward.

Now through October: Start the slow builders

These treatments help your body build its own collagen, so they reward you for planning ahead.

  • Micro-needling: You'll get a little glow right away, but the real changes show up over 2 to 3 months (up to 4 months if you're 50+). Start in the next few weeks and your results arrive right on time for the holidays.

  • Morpheus8 (RF micro-needling): Tightens skin and smooths texture while boosting your collagen. A consult is required before your first treatment, so book that part first!

  • Radiesse biostimulator: Stimulates your own collagen and elastin, and keeps improving for months after your appointment. It's great for cheeks and jawline, and (hello, sweater weather) your neck and décolletage.

Bonus: fall is already the best season for these. There's less sun, and more time for your skin to heal.

How far ahead should I get filler before an event?

At least 4 weeks. Filler looks good quickly, but full results take 2 to 3 weeks as it settles, and any swelling or bruising needs time to fade. Booking a month out also leaves room for an enhancement if you'd like one. For Thanksgiving, that means booking by the end of October.

How far ahead should I get Botox before an event?

About 3 to 4 weeks. With neurotoxin (Botox / Jeuveau), smoothing starts in 3 to 7 days and full results show up by day 14. If you want a little more, enhancements are done 14 to 21 days after your treatment, and booking 3 to 4 weeks ahead leaves room for that.

My favorite holiday hack: results last 10 to 12 weeks, so one treatment in early November can carry you through Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve. One appointment, the whole season covered.

Where do chemical peels fit in?

A chemical peel is a great way to brighten dull, dry winter skin, but timing matters. Peels need a 2-week buffer before and after neurotoxin, and should wait at least 2 weeks after Radiesse. If you're planning more than one treatment, let's map out the order together at your consult.

The last week: Hands off!

Skip anything new in the final week before a big event. Filler within 72 hours of an event isn't recommended, and even a tiny bruise can take a week or so to fade. This week is for moisturizer, sunscreen and enjoying yourself.

Your Thanksgiving cheat sheet (November 26)

  • Late September to October: Micro-needling, Morpheus8, Radiesse

  • By October 29: Filler

  • By November 5: Neurotoxin (Botox / Jeuveau), with room for an enhancement

  • November 19 to 26: Hands off. Just glow.

Celebrating later in December? Just slide everything forward.
